            Softball Preview: Normal West Wildcats vs. Pontiac Indians        
        
		
        
        
            The Normal West Wildcats will venture away from home to  square off against the Pontiac Indians  at 4:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
On Saturday, Normal West came up short against Peoria Notre Dame  and fell  12-9.
  Rylee Hollings stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double. The team also got some help courtesy of  Aleigha Bittner, who  went 1-for-4 with three  RBI and two  runs.
 Meanwhile, Pontiac entered their tilt with Prairie Central on Monday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hawks  a   2-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Indians have posted  against the Hawks since May 21, 2021.
 Pontiac's victory was  their fourth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 21-8. Those  road  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Normal West, their loss dropped their record down to 11-17.
