It was a good run, but East Webster unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mooreville Troopers. The Wolverines were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Troopers earlier this season, when they won 4-0.

Jordan Gaskin and Stetson Perkins did some serious damage despite the final result: Gaskin scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Perkins scored a run and stole four bases while going 1-for-4. Those stolen bases were Perkins' first of the season. Garrett White was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

East Webster's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Mooreville, their record now sits at 17-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Webster will square off against Louisville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Mooreville, they will take on Tupelo at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Troopers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Wave have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
