Basketball Recap: Malibu Sharks vs. Nordhoff Rangers
After flying high against Lakeview Charter last Monday, Malibu came back down to earth. The Malibu Sharks took a blow against the Nordhoff Rangers on Tuesday, falling 96-48. The Sharks haven't had much luck with the Rangers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Despite the loss, Malibu still got an impressive performance from Dylan Goosen, who went 12 of 26 to rack up 30 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals. Goosen is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last 31 games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Tommy Cupp, who posted ten points.
Nordhoff had a senior duo take command as Cayden Budlong went 7 for 9 on his way to 15 points along with eight assists and four steals and Jonathan Roman dropped a triple-double on ten points, 14 boards, and ten assists. Those ten assists set a new season-high mark for Roman. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Kirchner, who went 7 of 12 en route to 17 points.
Malibu's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Nordhoff, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-18.
Malibu has already played their next matchup, a 30-22 win against The School of Los Angeles on the 5th. Nordhoff does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
