Basketball Game Preview: Credo Gryphon vs. Sonoma Academy Coyotes

Credo hasn't had much luck against Sonoma Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Credo Gryphon will challenge the Sonoma Academy Coyotes at 6:00 p.m.

Credo is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They fell 43-34 to Roseland University Prep. The match was a 18-18 toss-up at halftime, but the Gryphon couldn't quite close it out.

Reilly Fay put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted 11 points.

Willits typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Sonoma Academy proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victor by a 40-18 margin over the Wolverines. The Coyotes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 games by 20 points or more this season.

Sonoma Academy's victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.2 points. As for Credo, their loss dropped their record down to 10-12.

Credo was dealt a bruising 49-19 defeat at the hands of Sonoma Academy in their previous meeting back in January. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Credo was down 32-5.
