Baseball Recap: Grandview Comes Up Short

Grandview blew Palmer out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Palmer got their revenge. The Zebras fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Zebras have suffered since May 3, 2024.

Lucas Ainsworth and Brady Slinkard stepped up to the plate in a big way. Ainsworth got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI, while Slinkard went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Grandview's loss dropped their record down to 11-15-1. As for Palmer, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-15-1.

Coming up, Grandview will look to defend their home field on Friday against Maypearl at 7:00 p.m. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Zebras surely won't give up without a fight. As for Palmer, they will face off against Rice at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
