Baseball Game Preview: Northview Vikings vs. Charter Oak Chargers

For the second straight game, Northview will face off against Charter Oak. The Vikings will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Chargers at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Northview 3.5, Charter Oak 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Charter Oak will be up against a hot Northview team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Vikings walked away with a 4-1 win over the Chargers on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by exactly three runs.

For Charter Oak's part, Marcus Reese was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Reese has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jorge Aceves was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Northview's victory bumped their record up to 11-9-1. As for Charter Oak, they moved to 8-10 with that defeat, which also ended their five-game winning streak.
