Softball Recap: Cedar Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cedar hadn't done well against Snow Canyon recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Reds walked away with a 7-3 win over the Warriors. The victory was nothing new for the Reds as they're now sitting on three straight.

Sadie Parson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Shaylee Johnson, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kaitlin Bulloch, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Cedar's record is now 19-5. As for Snow Canyon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedar will host Canyon View at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Snow Canyon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Desert Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Thunder have averaged an impressive 10.5 runs per game this season.
