Softball Game Preview: Mather Rangers vs. Rickover Naval Seadragons

The Mather Rangers will take on the Rickover Naval Seadragons at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Last Friday, Mather didn't have quite enough to beat Jones and fell 5-4. The Rangers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Rickover Naval, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They blew past Von Steuben 21-11 on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Seadragons considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Kayla Mateo was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five stolen bases, and six RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Soli Correa, who went 2-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Rickover Naval was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Rickover Naval's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4. As for Mather, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
