Softball Recap: Summerfield Rebels vs. Captain Shreve Gators
After flying high against Bastrop last Friday, Summerfield came back down to earth. The Rebels fell 6-2 to the Captain Shreve Gators on Monday. The Rebels have struggled against the Gators recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.
Melanie Salmon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.
At the plate, Summerfield saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aniston Cupp, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
