Davian Stephenson Crosses Big Stat Threshold

On Friday, Chowchilla got the W thanks in part to Davian Stephenson playing the best football he has all season. Stephenson rushed for 290 yards and five touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 87 yards and a touchdown while completing 85.7% of his passes. The performance once again pushed his average rushing yardage north of 100 yards per game (100.7). He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 66 yards.

Chowchilla pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Stephenson and Chowchilla will look to defend their home field on Friday against Minarets at 7:00 p.m.

Talan Lamattina Turns in Season-Best Performance

Liberty was led to victory by Talan Lamattina, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Lamattina rushed for 142 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack, forced a fumble, and made 12 total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Lamattina must have Minarets's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. When Lamattina last faced the Mustangs back in October of 2023, he rushed for 92 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.

Xaidyn Camacho Has Career Rushing Day

On Friday, Riverdale got the W thanks in part to Xaidyn Camacho playing the best football he has all season. Camacho rushed for 130 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries, and also threw for 146 yards and a touchdown on only 12 passes, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

Yosemite's probably not too fond of Camacho given he always seems to get the better of them. Camacho rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, and also threw for 82 yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Badgers duked it out back in October of 2023.

Smith Came Up Big in Fowler's 55-29 Loss

While Fowler might've come up empty on Friday, Jerod "Bubba" Smith wasn't going down without a fight. Chowchilla had no answer to Smith as he threw for 396 yards and four touchdowns.

Smith and Fowler will challenge Riverdale at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The game will pit Smith up against the Cowboys' star quarterback Xaidyn Camacho. With so much talent on the field, fans are surely in for an exciting game. The only thing left to see is who brings home the W.

Ethan Dunn Delivers Best Effort of Season

Liberty was led to victory by Ethan Dunn, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Dunn rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up two sacks and making four total tackles.

On the season, Dunn has run in 2 touchdowns while averaging 43.1 rushing yards per game.
