            Basketball Recap: Richland County Tigers vs. Lawrenceville Indians        
        
		
        
        
            If Richland County was riding high  fresh off their  49-28 takedown of Paris last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Richland County Tigers took  a  55-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lawrenceville Indians on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the  59-49 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture  back in February of 2024.

 When it comes to explaining why Richland County lost, don't look at  Carsyn Ameter. Despite the final result, he  went 5 of 6  en route to 14  points. Those 14 points gave  Ameter a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Casey Thomann, who  posted nine  points.
 Lawrenceville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Jayden Goff, who  earned 11 points along with six  rebounds and three  steals. Goff is also on a roll when it comes to  field goal percentage, as he's  posted one of at least 45% in the last four games he's  played.  Noah Wilson was another key player,  going 5 for 8  on his way to 16  points.
Richland County's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Lawrenceville, the  victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-6.
 Richland County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  52-32  win against Effingham on the 4th. As for Lawrenceville, they also  wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  matchup,  an  83-34  victory against Cisne on the 4th.
