Softball Game Preview: J.H. Rose Rampants vs. Hunt Warriors

The J.H. Rose Rampants will venture away from home to challenge the Hunt Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. J.H. Rose is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.

J.H. Rose's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Tuesday's struggle, when South Central hitters got past them. The Rampants came up short against the Falcons on Tuesday, falling 12-4.

J.H. Rose saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amira Abulatifa, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Hunt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 20-0 to South Johnston.

Hunt's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for J.H. Rose, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.

Hunt's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: J.H. Rose has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 8.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Hunt, though, as they've been averaging 9.5 hits. Given J.H. Rose's sizable advantage in that area, the Warriors will need to find a way to close that gap.

J.H. Rose might still be hurting after the 20-5 loss they got from Hunt in their previous matchup back in March of 2023. Can the Rampants avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
