Basketball Recap: North Putnam Comes Up Short

North Putnam suffered their closest loss since December 19, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of the South Putnam Eagles by a score of 68-66. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

South Putnam was led to victory by Wyatt Switzer and Isaac Garner. Switzer dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds, while Garner went 8 of 19 on his way to 23 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Those 23 points gave Garner a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cam Bozell, who posted three points.

North Putnam's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

North Putnam wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 73-44 defeat against Edgewood on the 7th. As for South Putnam, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-48 loss against Brown County on the 7th.
