Basketball Recap: Idea Takes a Loss

Idea lost against Parkside back in January of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Idea Timberwolves were beaten by the Parkside Eagles 78-51.

Idea's loss came despite strong showings from Sidy Koite and Kaidyn Lewis. Koite went 5 of 11 en route to 14 points along with seven boards and three blocks, while Lewis went 7 for 12 on his way to 17 points. Koite is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Demonta King, who posted six points.

Colby Murphy continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Parkside, putting up 26 points. Another player making a difference was Daiquan Smith, who earned 15 points.

Idea has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.6 points per game. As for Parkside, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8.

Idea will face off against Washington Leadership Academy at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Washington Leadership Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season. As for Parkside, they will take on The Living Water School at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in The Living Water School's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.
