Softball Recap: Taylor Comes Up Short

Taylor extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 4-8 in the process. They came up short against the Woodhaven Warriors, falling 13-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in April.

As for Woodhaven, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-3. Considering they have won ten matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

For Woodhaven's part, Natilee Pridemore was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. Pridemore has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mia Taylor, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Alyvia Mondon also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Taylor will take on Grosse Ile at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Woodhaven, they will square off against Riverview at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
