Softball Recap: McDonogh Find Success

McDonogh took a nine-run loss the last time they faced off against John Carroll, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Patriots 6-4. For the Eagles, this counts as revenge for the 10-1 victory the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

McDonogh's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for John Carroll, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McDonogh will welcome Westminster at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Owls have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.86 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for John Carroll, they will be playing at home against Mercy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
