Softball Game Preview: Lincoln Cardinals vs. Franklin Quakers

Lincoln is 0-10 against Franklin since May of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Cardinals will take on the Quakers at 4:00 p.m. Franklin took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Lincoln, who comes in off a win.

Lincoln will bounce into Tuesday's match after beating McDaniel, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. The Cardinals were the clear victors by a 16-1 margin over the Mountain Lions on Friday. The game was the first time the Cardinals have beaten the Mountain Lions on their field since April 2, 2019.

Meanwhile, Franklin fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Grant on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Generals by a score of 9-8. The loss continues a trend for the Quakers in their meetings with the Generals: they've now lost three in a row.

Franklin's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10-1. As for Lincoln, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-10.

Lincoln suffered a grim 16-6 defeat to Franklin when the teams last played back in April. Can the Cardinals avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
