1A Tideland recap Oct. 9, 2012
Columbia extended the longest winning streak in 1A Tideland this week by beating Mattamuskeet, 36-26. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Columbia led the league in scoring this week after putting up 36 points on the Lakers.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Creswell takes on Warnton Hill's team. The Tigers have allowed 168 points this season, while the Wildcats have given up 113. Creswell allowed 14 points last week as it beat Cape Hatteras.
Wayne Rodgers' team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 13,991 from 14,069. The advance stemmed from a 24-14 victory over the Hurricanes last week.
