Recap: Northeastern Jets vs. West Liberty-Salem Tigers

If the Northeastern Jets were feeling good off their 63-43 takedown of the Mechanicsburg Indians last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Northeastern ended up on the wrong side of a tough 68-48 walloping at the hands of West Liberty-Salem on Friday. Northeastern has not had much luck with West Liberty-Salem recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Northeastern lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jonathan Guevara, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Neer, who scored 11 points.

Northeastern has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. As for West Liberty-Salem, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northeastern won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bradford at 7:30 p.m. on February 3rd. Northeastern is facing Bradford at the right time seeing as Bradford is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for West Liberty-Salem, they will head out on the road to face off against Fairbanks at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Ohio (West Liberty-Salem is ranked 350th, while Fairbanks is ranked 349th).
