Basketball Recap: Glen Lake Piles Up the Points Against Leland

Glen Lake won the last time they faced Leland and things went their way on Friday too. The Glen Lake Lakers blew past the Leland Comets, posting a 55-14 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-8.

Leading Glen Lake to victory were Jacob Plamondon and Benji Allen. Plamondon dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 boards, while Allen went 7 for 15 on his way to 18 points and six rebounds. Plamondon's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Hazelton, who posted two points along with six boards and three steals.

Glen Lake smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Glen Lake's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Leland, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Glen Lake didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 90-85 win against Sacred Heart Academy on the 14th. Leland has also already played their next matchup, a 57-41 victory against Mesick on the 13th.
