Volleyball Recap: Belt Falls Despite Big Games from Bella Gama and Maren Keaster

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Belt couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Denton/Stanford/Geyser/Geraldine on Friday. The Huskies were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Denton/Stanford/Geyser/Geraldine earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Maren Keaster and Bella Gama certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Keaster had 13 digs and two aces, while Gama had eight digs and two aces. Keaster has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last five times she's played.

Belt's loss dropped their record down to 26-8. As for Denton/Stanford/Geyser/Geraldine, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.

Belt does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Denton/Stanford/Geyser/Geraldine, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Circle on the 14th.
