Baseball Recap: Centennial Has No Trouble Against Danville

Centennial won the last time they faced Danville and things went their way on Friday too. The Chargers were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Vikings. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Cal Meyers was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Centennial's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 9-2 (and 2-11 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Hunt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Centennial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Centennial's win bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Danville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-20 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centennial will venture away from home to take on Tolono Unity at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Danville, they will head out to face off against Champaign Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
