Basketball Recap: Bishop Mcdevitt Piles Up the Points Against Oley Valley

Bishop McDevitt had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Oley Valley Lynx 76-46. The Crusaders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 23 points or more this season.

Bishop McDevitt found their leader in freshman Dom Baker, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Kenyon Portee, who earned ten points.

Loss or not, Oley Valley got some senior leadership from Luke Turchi and Tucker Tipsword. Turchi shot 62% from the field on his way to 17 points and six boards, while Tipsword scored ten points. The contest was Turchi's 13th in a row with at least 15 points. Nicholas DeBalko was another key player, putting up six points in addition to six assists and five rebounds.

Bishop McDevitt's win bumped their record up to 20-3. As for Oley Valley, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-10.

Coming up, Bishop McDevitt will be playing in front of their home fans against Big Spring at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oley Valley, they are taking a road trip to challenge Susquenita at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
