Basketball Recap: Newell Comes Up Short

Newell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Moorcroft Wolves 73-9. The Irrigators lost against the Wolves in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 49-45 score last time.

Moorcroft moved to 2-7 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Newell and Faith will face off at 4:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Newell is facing Faith at the right time seeing as Faith is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Moorcroft, they and New Underwood will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. New Underwood has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
