Baseball Recap: Northside Christian Takes a Loss

Northside Christian had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 0-4 to make it seven. They came up short against the Tree of Life Christian Trojans, falling 17-2. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Trojans from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Northside Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Henry Kester, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

As for Tree of Life Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3. That looming 17-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

On Tree of Life Christian's side, Jacob Brown made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Brown has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Tree of Life Christian's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Meshach Bishara was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Keon King, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Looking ahead, Northside Christian will challenge Delaware Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tree of Life Christian, they will take on Genoa Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
