Baseball Recap: Highland Starts off Right with Win over Hoover

Highland had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They skirted past the Hoover Vikings 6-4.

Reid Oney tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over five innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Landon Sooy, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Hoover's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Highland and Hoover will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Highland is set to take on their familiar foe Copley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Hoover will challenge rival Lake at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
