Volleyball Recap: Republic Tigers vs. Carthage Tigers
Republic was the 3-0 winner over Carthage when they last played one another back in October of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Republic Tigers fell just short of the Carthage Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. Republic has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Republic actually scored more points across those five sets (110-98), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 13-25, 25-23, 19-25, 15-13.
Despite the loss, Republic still got an impressive performance from Kaylee Cornelsen, who had 12 digs.

Republic will challenge Springfield Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Carthage, they will venture away from home to face off against Mt. Vernon at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Mt. Vernon is coming into the matchup with four straight victories at home, so Carthage will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
