Baseball Game Preview: Hampton Roads Academy Navigators vs. Norfolk Christian Ambassadors

Hampton Roads Academy hasn't had much luck against Norfolk Christian recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Navigators will host the Ambassadors at 4:00 p.m. Hampton Roads Academy has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hampton Roads Academy's last matchup with Nansemond-Suffolk Academy could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Friday. The Navigators lost 13-7 to the Saints. The Navigators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Graham Hutchens made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Norfolk Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of TEACH Homeschool.

Norfolk Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Oliver Anderson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another was Caleb Clark, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Norfolk Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Hampton Roads Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hampton Roads Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Norfolk Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went Hampton Roads Academy's way against Norfolk Christian when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Hampton Roads Academy made off with an 11-3 victory.
