Softball Recap: Four Straight Home Victories for South Grand Prairie

While South Grand Prairie put up plenty of runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Bowie. South Grand Prairie put the hurt on Bowie with a sharp 15-0 victory. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Volunteers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Jernie Nerio made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Nerio was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Adriana Mountcastle was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Odessy Esparza, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

South Grand Prairie's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 13.5 runs. As for Bowie, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
