Baseball Recap: ALA - Queen Creek Makes It Five in a Row at Home

ALA - Queen Creek had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Poston Butte on Thursday. The Patriots were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Broncos. Considering the Patriots have won ten matches by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

ALA - Queen Creek let Juan Pablo Altamirano and Tayden Brewer run wild. Altamirano got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Brewer got on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Altamirano a new career-high. Jhett Reidhead was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

ALA - Queen Creek always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Poston Butte only posted an OBP of .333.

ALA - Queen Creek pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Poston Butte, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Patriots 2.9, the Rattlers 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
