Baseball Game Preview: Chaminade-Madonna Lions vs. Coral Springs Colts

Chaminade-Madonna's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against Monarch as Chaminade-Madonna made off with a 7-0 win. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Santi Arismendi looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Nolan Loonam was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua Wright, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Coral Springs didn't have quite enough to beat Wellington on Thursday and fell 10-9. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ruben Zuany and Natron Wheeler stepped up to the plate in a big way. Zuany went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Wheeler scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Those four RBI gave Zuany a new career-high. Saul Betancourt was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Chaminade-Madonna's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Coral Springs, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Chaminade-Madonna has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Coral Springs struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
