Baseball Game Preview: Prairie Hawks vs. Davenport North Wildcats

The Prairie Hawks will take on the Davenport North Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Prairie 3.3, Davenport North 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Davenport North will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Prairie extended their winning streak to four on Monday. The Hawks came out on top against Xavier by a score of 9-6.

Meanwhile, Davenport North suffered their closest loss since June 17, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of Pleasant Valley by a score of 9-7. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Prairie's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Davenport North, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7.
