Basketball Recap: Avenal Takes a Loss

On Tuesday, the Avenal Buccaneers were beaten by the Exeter Monarchs 63-25. While losing is never fun, the Buccaneers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1301st, while the Monarchs are ranked 377th).

Avenal's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-10. As for Exeter, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.

Avenal will take on Dos Palos at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Exeter, they will face off against Kerman at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Kerman knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully Exeter likes a good challenge.
