Basketball Game Preview: Pearl Pirates vs. Murrah Mustangs

The Pearl Pirates are taking a road trip to challenge the Murrah Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pearl has given up an average of 62.6 points per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Pearl and Jim Hill had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Pirates took a 68-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers on Friday.

Meanwhile, Murrah put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Dunbar as they made off with an 86-65 victory. The matchup marked the Mustangs' most dominant win of the season so far.

Murrah's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Pearl, their loss ended a 17-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-3.

Pearl strolled past Murrah in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 67-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Pirates since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
