Football Recap: Manasquan's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Manasquan extended their winning streak to five on Saturday, bumping them up to 7-1. They beat the Colts Neck Cougars by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 34-14. Considering the Warriors have won four contests by more than 19 points this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Colts Neck, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Manasquan is ranked 103rd).

Despite the loss, Colts Neck still got an impressive performance from Zack Caporale, who rushed for 92 yards and one score on only 11 carries. Caporale also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack, making 13 total tackles, and defending one pass.

Coming up, after both having extra time off, Manasquan and Wall Township will shake off the rust and duke it out at 10:00 a.m. on November 27. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Warriors 12.6, the Crimson Knights 13.8) so any points scored will be well earned. Colts Neck does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
