Football Game Preview: Porter Ridge Pirates vs. Weddington Warriors + How To Watch

Porter Ridge is 0-7 against Weddington since August of 2017 but things could change on Friday. The Pirates will face off against the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Porter Ridge proved they can win big last Friday (they won by 35) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 23-21 win over Marvin Ridge.

Rai'Shawn Elmore continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 124 yards and two touchdowns.

Elmore was just one part of a punishing run game: Porter Ridge was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 239 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marvin Ridge only rushed for 77.

Meanwhile, Weddington had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 34-7 victory over the Cavaliers. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 28-0.

Porter Ridge's record now sits at 6-2. As for Weddington, their record is now 7-1.

Porter Ridge took a serious blow against Weddington in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 49-0. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
