Basketball Recap: First Presbyterian Day Vikings vs. Windsor Academy Knights

The First Presbyterian Day Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight defeat. They fell 70-60 to Windsor Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Chris Davis and Wills Handberry certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Davis scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Handberry dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Handberry is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted three or more in the last three games he's played.

First Presbyterian Day has been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Windsor Academy, they pushed their record up to 10-10 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.

First Presbyterian Day will challenge the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tattnall Square Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Vikings in Georgia (the Trojans are ranked 218th, while the Vikings are ranked 484th). As for Windsor Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Crusaders at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Trinity Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully the Knights like a good challenge.
