The Caravel Buccaneers will take on the Howard Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Caravel had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They claimed a resounding 35-7 victory over Delaware Military Academy at home. Considering Caravel has won seven matches by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Meanwhile, Howard faced Wilmington Friends in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Howard had just enough and edged Wilmington Friends out 30-28.
It was another big night for Rahsaan Matthews, Jr, who rushed for 45 yards and four touchdowns.
Caravel's victory bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Howard, their victory bumped their record up to 8-3.
Everything went Caravel's way against Howard in their previous matchup back in September as Caravel made off with a 56-34 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Howard's Matthews, Jr, who threw for 350 yards and five touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes.
