Baseball Recap: Sonora Comes Up Short

Sonora was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 15-5 to the Miles Bulldogs.

Sonora saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jorge Leija, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Leija also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Another was Jayce Martinez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Sonora's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Miles, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Looking ahead, Sonora will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Colorado at 5:00 p.m. Colorado has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.09 runs per game on average), something Sonora will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Miles, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Christoval at 4:00 p.m. on April 4.
