Atchison came tearing into Wednesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 69-26 win over the Wyandotte Bulldogs. Given the Phoenix's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 81st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 256th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Atchison's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Wyandotte, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atchison will square off against Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Atchison has won three straight at home, while Washington won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Wyandotte, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Harmon on February 4th.
