Softball Preview: Wilcox County Patriots vs. Crisp Academy Wildcats

The Wilcox County Patriots are on the road again on Monday to play the Crisp Academy Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. Crisp Academy took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Wilcox County, who comes in off a win.

Last Tuesday, Wilcox County made easy work of Hawkinsville and carried off an 11-4 victory. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won four matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Shamauri Martin made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Meanwhile, Crisp Academy lost 15-3 to Southwest Georgia Academy on Thursday. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now lost three in a row.

Wilcox County's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Crisp Academy, they now have a losing record at 8-9.

Wilcox County was able to grind out a solid victory over Crisp Academy when the teams last played back in August, winning 12-7.
