Basketball Recap: Beaufort Eagles vs. North Charleston Cougars
The Beaufort Eagles pushed their score all the way to 60 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 69-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Charleston. If Beaufort was looking for revenge after losing 53-38 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Samari Bonds, who scored 19 points along with five assists and two steals. Aj Newton was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds.
Even though they lost, Beaufort were working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Beaufort now has a losing record at 9-10. As for North Charleston, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-8.
Beaufort will be playing at home against the Hawks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hanahan has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 30. North Charleston does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
