Baseball Recap: Tippecanoe Valley Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Tippecanoe Valley had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 23-15 to the Manchester Squires on Monday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

Hunter Paxton made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Braxton Alderfer was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Manchester's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Tippecanoe Valley will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Warsaw at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Manchester, they will square off against Bluffton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Squires' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
