Skyview waltzed into their match on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let Lakeland get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. Considering Skyview has won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Makenna Shamy was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Skyview got a massive performance out of Grace Chambers, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. That's the most RBI Chambers has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Makayla Lytle, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Skyview kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 9-2 when they post 11 or more hits.
The win got Skyview back to even at 14-14. As for Lakeland, their loss dropped their record down to 10-18.
As of now, neither Skyview nor Lakeland have any future games scheduled.
