Volleyball Recap: West Has No Trouble Against East

West barely beat East the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers put the hurt on the Leopards with a sharp 3-0 win on Tuesday. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Panthers yet this season.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-16, 25-12.

Ituau Aiono paced West's offense, picking up six kills. Aiono got some help from Marisia Hansen and her 11 assists. Leatula'I Pututau and Rosana Hafoka kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with eight aces apiece.

West pushed their record up to 8-3 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for East, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West will take on Corner Canyon at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, East and Murray will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Spartans have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
