With a playoff win on the line, Evergreen rose to the challenge on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Ponderosa Mustangs a 4-0 shutout. Evergreen might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by three goals or more this season.

They hit Ponderosa with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Nadia Leunig (2), Lucia Spungin, and Gianna Weiner.

Evergreen's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 38 goals over those eight matches. As for Ponderosa, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7-3.

Coming up, Evergreen will face off against Dakota Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dakota Ridge will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Evergreen surely won't give up without a fight. Ponderosa does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
