Softball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Jordan

Jordan came tearing into Wednesday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.2 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Athens Drive Jaguars as they made off with a 13-3 win. Considering the Falcons have won three contests by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Sidney Sharp, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Kylie Specht was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Sharp wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Jordan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.

Jordan's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Athens Drive, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jordan will face off against North Raleigh Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. North Raleigh Christian Academy has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14 runs per game on average), something Jordan will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Athens Drive, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Athens Drive Jaguars challenge Chapel Hill Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
