Basketball Recap: Lakewood's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Lakewood came into Tuesday's game having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They secured a 48-42 W over the Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets on Tuesday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Lancers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 702nd, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 188th).

Lakewood's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-16. As for Mt. Vernon, their loss dropped their record down to 11-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakewood has already played their next matchup (against Utica), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mt. Vernon has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Granville.
