Basketball Recap: Jay County Comes Up Short

Jay County was the 55-42 winner over Woodlan when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Jay County Patriots lost to the Woodlan Warriors on the road by a 56-40 margin on Friday. The Patriots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Jay County still got an impressive performance from Tucker Griffin, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 16 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Christopher Jayden Comer, who posted ten points.

Trey Yoder continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Woodlan, shooting 5-for-7 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. Those 30 points gave Yoder a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Oliver Adams, who made all 6 shots he took racking up 14 points.

Jay County now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Woodlan, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Jay County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-59 victory against Fort Recovery on the 7th. As for Woodlan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, an 81-72 defeat against Angola on the 10th.
