            Softball Recap: New Richmond Lions vs. Butler Aviators        
        
		
        
        
            New Richmond's tournament run continued when they took on Butler  on Friday. The Lions walked away with  an   8-3  victory over the Aviators. That's two games straight that the Lions have won by  exactly five  runs.
 Piper Willis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and one unearned) runs on five hits.

 On the hitting side,  Madison Steelman was  incredible,  going a perfect 4-for-4 with two  doubles, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. Those  four  hits gave  her a new career-high.  Maggie Schuster was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with two  stolen bases and two  runs.
 New Richmond was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .444. They are  a perfect 5-0 when  they post a batting average of .375 or better.
New Richmond is  on a roll lately: they've  won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Butler, their loss dropped their record down to 9-12.
New Richmond will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Aviators: the pair will be back at it again later today.
